Focus will be upon the social, economic, and political trends that led to the advent of western civilization, the Judeo-Christian ethos, free market economy, and republican form of government.
Texas History (H) covers the geography of Texas and its history from the first pre-historic settlers through the days of the cattle ranchers (late 1800's). The course is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of Texas, its history, its geography, its people, its culture, and its heritage. The honors status focuses on preparing the student for more advanced social studies curriculum in the high school.
